ABOUT US

East Poplar Simmentals is a family run purebred and commercial cattle operation. The farm is located 9 miles east of Coronach, SK and we are strictly a cattle operation. In 2005, after many years of using Simmental bulls on our commercial cows, the Manske family decided to get into the purebred business. In 2014, Kyron moved back to the farm and took over the cattle operation.

Our goal is to raise functional cattle with an emphasis on maternal and performance traits. We firmly believe in the power of a highly maternal cowherd which can maintain condition on pasture, wean a high percentage of their body weight, and breed back early.

In 2019 we had the opportunity to purchase a group of cows from Labatte Simmentals and are now the guest consignor of the Annual Labatte Bull and Female Sale held in Moose Jaw, SK.

Select females are sold in the fall at Simmsational in Moose Jaw, SK and Friday Night Lights Olds, AB.

Besides the cattle we have some other enterprises on the go. We are Gallagher, Stockade and Imperial Seed, Cargill and SmartLic dealers and run a custom swathing and haying operation. Kelsey is the Community Development Officer for the Town of Coronach.

We enjoy visitors at the farm and invite anyone interested to stop by anytime. Coffee is always on!
